Vocabulary SRS

A local-first flashcard app for spaced review of words on the phone. Decks, cards, and review progress stay in app storage. Core study does not require an account.

What Vocabulary SRS does

Vocabulary SRS is a personal study tool. You keep word cards in local decks, review what is due first, then rate each card Again / Hard / Good / Easy so the next review interval is written on the device. Practice modes (Spell, Quiz, Cloze) and Browse do not change the schedule.

A built-in starter pack of 108 English cards is included, with phonetics, short definitions, example sentences, and tags. You can add custom decks, edit cards, star items, or suspend a card so it leaves the due queue.

Study modes

SRS Review writes new intervals. Spell, Quiz, Cloze, and Browse are practice or reading only.

SRS Review

Flip the card, then rate Again / Hard / Good / Easy. That rating sets the next due time.

Spelling

See the definition and type the word. Case is ignored. The schedule is unchanged.

Quiz

Four options for meaning or word recall. Misses go to Wrong words only.

Cloze

Fill the blank in an example sentence. Practice never moves due dates.

Decks and card fields

You can use the built-in starter deck or create a local deck (name, optional description, default direction). Each card can hold:

Word and definition (required)

Optional phonetic (IPA), example sentence, mnemonic, and up to eight tags

Star, suspend, or delete — suspend leaves the due queue without deleting history

Editing a deck name or default direction does not reset SRS progress on existing cards. Study setup can still override direction for one session.

What stays on the phone

V1.0.0 is built as a local study desk. Decks, cards, SRS schedules, practice misses, starred lists, leeches, session history, theme, sound, TTS, reminder, and daily-goal settings stay in app storage on that device. Core study does not require an account. Exports and imports are user-started through the system file picker; you choose where a backup file is saved.

Optional speech uses the device’s system voice engine. V1.0.0 does not upload spoken audio to a company cloud. Optional reminders are a local nudge at the hour you set and are off until you turn them on.

Read the data practices in the Privacy Policy. Clearing study data or uninstalling removes local decks and progress from that phone.

What this app is not

It is not a classroom, exam, or language-certificate service. Results depend on your own study habits.

It is not a social network, marketplace, or cloud classroom. There is no public feed and no account wall in V1.0.0.

V1.0.0 does not include advertising or in-app purchases.
